COOL Country Cottage Plan 35009 with Loft Space and Open Living Layout
COOL house plan 35009 proves that great things can come in a compact package. This far out Country Cottage design combines efficient living, cabin-inspired charm, and future flexibility in a home that's perfect for vacation getaways, starter homes, retirement living, or weekend retreats.
Inspired by traditional Country Cottage and Chalet-style cabin architecture, this charming design offers a warm and inviting appearance that fits beautifully into wooded settings, mountain properties, lake communities, vacation destinations, and rural homesites. Its efficient footprint helps maximize value while maintaining plenty of comfort and character.
Inside, the open-concept layout creates a welcoming atmosphere where the kitchen, dining area, and living room work together as one connected living space. This design makes the home feel larger than its footprint while creating the perfect environment for relaxing, entertaining, and everyday living.
The living room serves as the central gathering space and includes a built-in entertainment center that provides convenience, organization, and a natural focal point for family activities. It's the ideal spot to unwind after a busy day or gather with friends and family.
The efficient U-shaped kitchen is designed to make the most of every square foot. Ample counter space, generous storage, and excellent workflow allow homeowners to enjoy both functionality and convenience while preparing meals and entertaining guests.
Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining area provides a comfortable space for family dinners, casual breakfasts, and holiday gatherings. Its open connection to the surrounding living areas helps maintain the home's bright and spacious feel.
The primary bedroom offers comfortable accommodations and features a large closet that provides valuable storage space. The thoughtful layout supports easy everyday living while maximizing efficiency throughout the home.
One of the coolest features of house plan 35009 is the loft overlooking the kitchen and living room below. This flexible space creates architectural interest while offering exciting possibilities for future expansion. Use it as a home office, guest room, reading area, hobby space, game room, or creative retreat.
The open loft design adds volume and visual openness to the home while allowing homeowners to adapt the space as their needs evolve over time. It's a feature that adds both character and long-term flexibility.
Whether you're searching for a vacation cabin, rental property, retirement retreat, starter home, or affordable cottage, house plan 35009 delivers efficiency, flexibility, and unmistakable COOL cottage style.

Exterior Elevations Scaled drawings of the front, rear, sides of the home. Information pertaining to the exterior finish materials, roof pitches and exterior height dimensions.
Typical Wall Section This section will address insulation, roof components, and interior and exterior wall finishes. Your plans will be designed with either 2x4 or 2x6 exterior walls, but most professional contractors can easily adapt the plans to the wall thickness you require.
Fireplace Details If the home you have chosen includes a fireplace, the fireplace detail will show typical methods to construct the firebox, hearth and flue chase for masonry units, or a wood frame chase for a zero-clearance unit. Available for most plans.
Foundation Plan These plans will accurately dimension the footprint of your home including load bearing points and beam placement if applicable. The foundation style will vary from plan to plan.
Roof Plan The information necessary to construct the roof will be included with your home plans. Some plans will reference roof trusses, while many others contain schematic framing plans. These framing plans will indicate the lumber sizes necessary for the rafters and ridgeboards based on the designated roof loads.
Typical Cross Section A cut-away cross-section through the entire home shows your building contractor the exact correlation of construction components at all levels of the house. It will help to clarify the load bearing points from the roof all the way down to the basement. Available for most plans.
Detailed Floor Plans The floor plans of your home accurately dimension the positioning of all walls, doors, windows, stairs and permanent fixtures. They will show you the relationship and dimensions of rooms, closets and traffic patterns. The schematic of the electrical layout may be included in the plan.
Stair Details If stairs are an element of the design you have chosen, the plans will show the necessary information to build these, either through a stair cross section, or on the floor plans.
